Spicy Food News: Wendy’s Spices Things Up with Wednesday Collaboration, Taco Bell Adds a New Sauce, and More

Wendy’s Goes Dark (and Spicy) with the Meal of Misfortune

Wendy’s will be promoting the upcoming second season of Netflix’s dramedy Wednesday (premieres August 6th) with a new meal deal that has a rather misfortunate name but that promises some heat. The Meal of Misfortune will include “Rest in 10-Piece” Nuggets, small “Cursed & Crispy” Fries and a small “Raven’s Blood” Frosty, along with two “Dips of Dread”. Here is the official description for the latter which should interest spicy food lovers:

No one will escape the Dips of Dread unscathed. With two mystery dipping sauces in each meal, only fate will decide which of the four dips – You Can’t Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake or Nowhere to Woe – accompany each order. Don’t bother asking which sauce you’ll get – you must surrender to your destiny. Those brave enough to try them all must endure multiple visits.

The Meal of Misfortune will be available starting on August 4th, but it will only be around for the dreaded limited-time-only.

Taco Bell Spices Up Summer with New BBQ Sauce

The Bell has been adding a quite a lot of new items lately, and they are not slowing down on that front yet. They now have the new Sweet Chipotle BBQ Sauce on the menu and they are pairing that up with several of their fan-favorite items. Following is the official description of the sauce from the website:

The new sauce balances smoky chipotle peppers, sweet molasses and spices – the ultimate match for tortilla chip-coated Crispy Chicken Tacos, Burritos and Strips.

And here is the rundown of the new menu items including the sauce:

Sweet Chipotle BBQ Crispy Chicken Taco: One perfectly crisped Crispy Chicken Strip layered with purple cabbage, crisp lettuce, Spicy Ranch sauce, pico de gallo and shredded cheddar cheese, paired with the all-new Sweet Chipotle BBQ.

Sweet Chipotle BBQ Crispy Chicken Burrito: Two Crispy Chicken Strips surrounded by purple cabbage, crisp lettuce, Spicy Ranch sauce, pico de gallo and shredded cheddar cheese, paired with the all-new Sweet Chipotle BBQ and wrapped tight into a burrito.

Sweet Chipotle BBQ Sauce Topped Fries: Nacho Fries but with a sweet heat twist! Atop a base of golden Nacho Fries is slow-roasted chicken, a drizzling of Nacho Cheese sauce, Spicy Ranch, the all-new Sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and jalapeños.

You can also order the sauce by itself to add to any of Taco Bell’s items for 60 cents. And this will be returning to Limited-Time-Only-Ville at some point, so if it sounds tempting, you will want to try it sooner rather than later.

Farm Rich Introduces Buffalo Style Chicken Rollups

Farm Rich–the company known for delivering delicious, real-ingredient snacks–is adding a spicy new item to its frozen food lineup. Following is the description of their Buffalo Style Chicken Rollups from the press release:

Buffalo Style Chicken Roll-Ups: Savory buffalo-style chicken, melty cheese and a kick of Frank’s RedHot sauce, rolled in a crispy flour tortilla.

There is no indication that these are limited-time-only items, so I expect that they will stick around as long as sales are good.
