Spicy Food News: Hot & Spicy Wings Return to KFC, Hormel Kicks Up Its Pepperoni, and More
KFC Brings Back a Fan Favorite
Wings are back on the menu at KFC by popular demand as the chicken-slinger will start frying up their Hot & Spicy Wings once again. These were last seen in stores two years ago, and fans have been asking for their return ever since they disappeared from the menu. Here is the description from the press release:
The wings pair a spicy marinade with double hand-breading in KFC’s signature Extra Crispy™ flour, offering just the right amount of kick in every satisfying crunch.
Also coming back are the fan-favorite Potato Wedges which have been absent for five years. Both will be returning nationwide on August 18th, and there is no indication that they will be sent back to Limited-Time-Only-Ville anytime soon.
Hormel Kicks Up Its Pepperoni

Hormel Pepperoni has been a mainstay on store shelves for quite a while now, and they are adding a new version that promises to bring some heat. In response to consumer demands for spicy food items, they are offering pepperoni with jalapeno that pairs that Italian-style deli meat–which already has a kick–with the well-known chili pepper for even more of a burn. In addition, they are adding dill pickle flavored pepperoni that offers a nice, tasty zing. These should be hitting shelves soon, and there is no indication that they are limited time items so they should stick around as long as sales are good.
Taco Bell Brings Back Cheesy Street Chalupas

The Bell experimented with street-style chalupas back in 2024, and they are adding those to the menu once again. Here is the description from the press release:
The Cheesy Street Chalupas are street-sized and served as a bundle of two, featuring traditional street taco ingredients — like fresh cilantro and diced onions — paired with your choice of premium protein. Fans can enjoy either slow-roasted chicken or grilled, marinated steak, all topped with a creamy Jalapeño Ranch sauce and wrapped in Quesalupa-inspired shells stuffed with melted mozzarella and pepperjack cheese.
These sell for $5.49 for two in my area and they are available nationwide as of August 14th. But this is The Bell, so expect these to head back to Limited-Time-Only-Ville sooner rather than later.
Wingstop Is Offering BOGO Chicken Sammies for a Very Limited Time

One of the top wing sellers in the nation is promoting their chicken sandwiches (which are quite good and worth checking out) with a buy one, get one free deal. You can either buy a chicken sandwich combo (with fries and drink) or just the sandwich, and you get a second sammy for free. But you have to do this for pickup or delivery with the code “BOGOSAMMY” and you have to order through the app or on their website. And this is only good through August 17th, so you will want to head to your local Wingstop soon.
