Burger King Scares Up a Ghost Pepper Whopper in Time for Halloween

Burger King is adding a new spicy item to its menu, and for once chicken is not involved. I’m not sure why poultry is usually the protein of choice to get spiced up at fast food and fast casual places these days, but this time around it is a burger that is getting the heat. The King is kicking up his signature menu item the Whopper with ghost peppers just in time for Halloween.

According to ChewBoom, the Ghost Pepper Whopper will have “a flame-grilled Whopper patty layered with Ghost Pepper cheese, spicy queso sauce, crispy jalapeños and bacon, all sandwiched between a pair of orange Whopper buns.”

We’re going to assume that those buns are orange due to food coloring and that it is supposed to make the Whopper look like a pumpkin. That is at least a step up in the optics department from the 2015 A1 Halloween Whopper which had a black bun!

Last year the King released Ghost Pepper Chicken Nuggets at Halloween time which were pretty good. I will definitely be searching out the new spicy Whopper, but the window of opportunity to get one will be frighteningly small. They hit the drive thru October 13th and will likely disappear shortly after that. So if you want one, time your next trip to BK appropriately.
