Things will be heating up at Taco Bell this summer as the fast food chain will be bringing back its Volcano Menu along with the Lava Sauce that can really spice things up. The Volcano Menu consists of spicy versions of their tacos, burritos, and nachos and was first introduced back in 1995 as a tie in to the movie Congo. The Volcano items themselves were not overly spicy, but the Lava Sauce definitely has a kick and is the hottest sauce that Taco Bell has offered as I recall (it has been a while since I had it, though). That and the Volcano Menu disappeared back in the 2010s, but nothing is ever gone forever in the drive thru and the Bell will be igniting the flame once again.
These items are currently set to return to stores in June of 2023 with the Volcano Burrito and Volcano Taco confirmed to be on the menu, and the nachos are showing up in the advertising as well. I also expect we will see a Volcano variation on their Nacho Fries (which were supposed to be elevated to the permanent menu, but they aren’t they at my local Taco Bell). But of course, the Volcano selections will be on loan from Limited-Time-Only-Ville, so don’t expect them to stick around long. (And also don’t be surprised if they run out of supplies quickly and you can’t get them at all.) June 29th is currently the targeted return date and rewards members will likely get the first crack at the new menu on June 27th (it is free to sign up) .
