All-You-Can-Eat Is Back at Applebee’s
If you’re hungry, national chain Applebee’s has you covered. They are bringing back their All-You-Can-Eat appetizer special which includes their Wings, Riblets, and Double-Crunch Shrimp. The first of those three is what spicy food lovers will be looking for and the sauces available are Classic Buffalo, Extra Hot Buffalo, Sweet Asian Chili, Honey Pepper, Honey BBQ, and Garlic Parmesan. The price is $14.99 in my area and that includes fries. This deal tends to stick around for a only month or two, so if you like the wings from Applebee’s, now is the time to take advantage of that.
Brine Restaurant Amps Up the Heat on Its Chicken Sandwich
If Dave’s Reaper chicken tender is not hot enough for you (more on that here), then you may want to plan a trip to New York City. Brine Restaurant has added a new sammy called the DNE Chicken Sandwich to the menu which they describe as “the hottest available at any restaurant”. To give you a hint, the DNE stands for “Do Not Eat”! Following is the description given by Food & Wine:
The sandwich starts with a Carolina Reaper extract-glazed bun. On the inside, you’ll find ghost pepper-seasoned onion strings, Carolina Reaper sweet chili sauce, and smoky aioli, plus a homemade hot sauce featuring a blend of Reaper, Ghost, and Arbol chiles.
It costs $25 and you have to sign a waiver, but if you finish it you get a $50 gift card that can be used at the Brine locations in New York and New Jersey. This will only be on the menu until February 26th, so you have about a month left to try it.
Shake Shack Adds Korean BBQ Chicken to the Menu
Fast casual burger slinger Shake Shack is spicing things up again with its new Korean BBQ Chicken sandwich. This was first introduced in the chain’s locations in Korea and now it has made it over to the States. Here is the description from the press release:
Our limited-time Korean-Style Fried Chick’n features a gochujang-glazed crispy chicken breast topped with toasted sesame seeds that sits over a white kimchi slaw whipped up using kimchi from Choi’s Kimchi Co.Opens in a new window, a family-run biz on the West Coast.
This is available for a limited time only, but I expect that it will stick around on the menu for at least a couple of months.
El Pollo Loco Brings Back Shredded Chicken Crunchy Taco
A fan-favorite is returning to the leading fire-grilled chicken chain in the country as the Shredded Chicken Crunchy Taco will be back on the menu at El Pollo Loco. Following is the description from RestaurantNews.com:
The Crunchy Taco is made with a new double layer of crunchy, fried corn tortillas filled with tender, juicy, shredded fire-grilled chicken topped with a mild roasted tomato salsa, crisp shredded lettuce, and melty Jack cheese. Swing by the nearest El Pollo Loco today and add a Shredded Chicken Crunchy Taco or two to your favorite meal.
They don’t mention if this will be added to the permanent menu, so you will probably want to make a visit sooner rather than later if these interest you.
