Hot Ones and Ragu Are Releasing Some Spicy Sauces
The YouTube series Hot Ones is partnering up with Italian sauce maker Ragu to put out three spicy new pasta sauces. Here is the description from the press release of the three progressively hotter sauces that will be available in the limited edition three-pack:
RAGÚ® x Hot Ones™ Limited Edition Fiery Garlic (Hot) – Featuring notes of Fresno chile and garlic blending with the umami-rich tomatoes, this sauce provides a crowd-pleasing kick when added to baked goat cheese, pizzas and burger toppings.
RAGÚ® x Hot Ones™ Limited Edition Chipotle Blaze (Hotter) – Smoky meets sweet in this blend of chipotle peppers and tomatoes resulting in a deliciously spicy sauce that’s a perfect barbecue substitute in your favorite chicken or beef dishes.
RAGÚ® x Hot Ones™ Limited Edition Chile Inferno (Hottest) – Beware! This sauce is not for the faint of tongue. Infused with some of the spiciest peppers out there, this sauce is perfect to add to wings, dips or whatever else you dare to put it on.
These will be available at the end of January 2025 on Amazon.com and the Kroger family of stores and the former is currently showing a price of $13.44 for the set (you can pre-order it now). This is a limited time offer, so you will want to grab the sauces as soon as they are available.
Whataburger Brings Back Two Fan Favorites
This Texas-based burger chain is celebrating 75 years since it first opened in Corpus Christi in 1950, and it is bringing back two beloved menu items: The Monterey Melt and the Chicken Fajita Taco. Here is the description of each from the website:
Monterey Melt: Two juicy 100% beef patties dripping in melty Monterey Jack and American cheeses, topped with grilled onions and peppers, and finished off with our signature Jalapeño Ranch sauce. It’s spicy, it’s meaty, it’s straight-up melty perfection.
Chicken Fajita Taco: 100% chicken breast, grilled to perfection, snug in a soft flour tortilla, getting toasty with seared onions, poblano, and red peppers—basically a fiesta in every bite.
These are only visiting from Limited-Time-Only-Ville, though, so you will need to head to the drive thru soon if you want to pick up either or both.
Jersey Mike’s Adds Spicy Chicken Italian Sandwich
Sandwich slinger Jersey Mike’s is adding slow-roasted chicken breast to its selection of meats, and it has a spicy sandwich featuring the new poultry. The Spicy Chicken Italian comes with the new chicken, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and Hot Chopped Pepper Relish. They also have a standard sandwich featuring the chicken with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and a red wine vinegar-olive oil blend. Of course, you can customize either of these with their wide selection of toppings (expect an upcharge on the premium toppings), and this is available for the dreaded “limited time only”.
Pepperidge Farms Spices Up Goldfish Crisps
Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Crisps have proven a hit in the stores offering a crispier and puffy version of their famous snack cracker that is made with potato flour. And now they are adding a spicy version. Up till now, the three flavors available have been Cheddar, Sour Cream & Onion, and Salt & Vinegar. Coming soon (I have not seen a release date yet) they will be releasing Barbecue and Spicy Dill Pickle. The latter flavor worked quite well with the regular Goldfish (you can read my review of that here), and since I am a big fan of these crisps, I look forward to the new addition. These appear to be joining the permanent lineup, but that just means they will stick around as long as the sales are good.
