KFC Drizzles on Hot Honey
Just in time for the Super Bowl, KFC is adding a new flavor to its menu. That chicken chain is teaming with Mike’s Hot Honey (who have been very busy promoting their products through partnerships) to offer a new sweet and hot drizzle that can be added to its chicken. You can get this added to their regular bone-in chicken or their tenders, original recipe or extra crispy. The hot honey will be available in stores on February 9th and one day earlier if you order through DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub. It will then be returning to Limited-Time-Only-Ville at some point during the next month or so.
Jack in the Box Expands Its Wings Lineup
Jack already had bone-in wings available at his stores, and now he is adding boneless wings to the lineup. These will come in the same three flavors as the bone-in version: classic, smokey BBQ, and honey garlic sriracha. The latter flavor offers some heat, and these are available in 6-piece, 12-piece, and 18-piece orders which sell for $5.99, $10.99, and $15.99 respectively in my area. I believe these are advertised as a limited-time-only item, but the bone-in version has been around for a while, so I expect the new wings will stick around for at least a few months.
El Pollo Loco Is Fire-Grilling Mango Habanero Chicken
And yet another new chicken item, El Pollo Loco was previously testing its Fire-Grilled Mango Habanero Chicken and now that has made it to the menu. Following is the description from the press release:
We are pleased to introduce this new vibrant Mango Habanero Sauce which perfectly balances the sweetness of mango puree with the fiery kick of habanero peppers. This flavor combination amplifies our citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken.
The two-piece combo meal starts at $11.49 in my area and the eight-piece family meal starts at $26.49. It is available in stores now, but it is a limited time offering.
