Jack Adds Some Heat by Way of Nashville
Jack in the Box is known for spicing things up from time to time, and now they are adding a Nashville Hot menu. There are only two items on that so far, and here is the rundown from their website:
Nashville Hot Popcorn Chicken: Made with 100% all-white meat chicken, the new Nashville Hot Popcorn Chicken is coated in Jack’s signature sweet-and-spicy Nashville Hot seasoning. Available in small, big, or mega box sizes, guests can also order it as a combo with seasoned curly fries and a drink, starting at $5.99. For fans of the original, Classic Popcorn Chicken remains available and comes with Jack’s iconic Buttermilk Ranch dipping sauce.
Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks: Jack’s popular Mozzarella Sticks are getting a fiery new makeover. The classic melty mozzarella cheese inside now comes wrapped in a crispy, golden coating seasoned with Nashville Hot flavor. Served with a side of marinara, these spicy sticks offer a bold new take on a beloved snack.
These are not being referred to as limited-time-only items, but the fast food world does like to cycle through its specials, so you will want to try them soon if they sound tempting.
Smashburger Piles on the Heat
Smashburger has introduced a new menu item that should be of interest to burger lovers looking for some burn with their beef. Following is the description of the new Jalapeño BBQ Bacon Stack Smash from the press release:
This stacked burger features crispy applewood smoked bacon, fresh-sliced jalapeños, sweet and smoky BBQ sauce, and melty American cheese, all layered on a Certified Angus Beef® patty. Every bite balances heat, smokiness and savory richness, making it a must-try for burger lovers.
This is, of course, on loan from Limited-Time-Only-Ville, so you will want to try it while it is still on the menu.
Sonic Adds a Spicy New Chicken Sandwich
Sonic has added two new junior chicken sandwiches to its menu, and one of them has some sweet and spice. Here is the description of the Honey Chipotle Jr. Chicken Sandwich from the website:
Lightly breaded and seasoned Jr. chicken fillet topped with a sweet honey chipotle aioli, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes on a toasted bakery bun.
And while it is a “junior” sandwich, it packs some heft with 420 calories and should be filling with an order of their cheese tots. The sandwich sells for $1.99 in my area (pretty good these days for fast food), and there is no indication that it is a limited time item. Sonic has also added two new dipping sauces that offer a kick: Jalapeno Ranch and Asian-Style Sweet Chili.
