Spicy Food News: Wendy’s Goes Fuego and Wienerschnitzel Adds a New Type of Dog
Wendy’s Has a New Spicy Chicken Sandwich on the Way to Heat Up the Summer
Wendy’s has been known for putting out some tasty and spicy chicken sammies like its Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich and its Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich. Sadly, its recent Cajun Crunch sammy was somewhat of a miss (more on that here), but they have a new one coming to bat this June. A post on social media has announced the chain’s upcoming Fuego menu which is a partnership with the Takis snack brand. Here are the featured items:
Fuego Chicken Sandwich: Spicy chicken fillet with chili lime & cheddar cheese sauce, followed by crushed Takis Fuego chips and creamy corn spread on a toasted bun.
Fuego Fries: Hot Natural Cut Fries and chili lime seasoning. Comes in a tear-away bag.
These are part of part of Wendy’s 100 Days of Summer promotion, and they will be on loan from Limited-Time-Only-Ville. I have not seen any price info yet, and they will be arriving at stores in late June

Wienerschnitzel Adds Spicy Bird Dog
West Coast-based Wienerschnitzel is known for its variety of hot dogs, but they are now adding a new type of dog to the menu with the Bird Dog. This is a Southern Carolina specialty and it features a crispy chicken tender taking the place of a sausage on a hot dog bun. The chain is adding three varieties, and the Buffalo version promises to bring a kick:
Buffalo Ranch Bird Dog: A chicken breast tender, two slices of tomato, ranch, and Buffalo sauce, served on a hot dog bun.
The other two bird dogs currently available are the Bacon Ranch and BBQ and there is no indication at this time if these are limited-time-only items.
