Spicy Food News: Wingstop Adds Smoky Chipotle Rub, Cheez-It Adds a New Variety with a Kick
Wingstop Goes for Smoky Spice
Football season is here, and the wings industry is doing everything it can to grab the attention of game-day munchers. National chain Wingstop is in that mix, and that have introduced a new flavor that brings some smoke and spice. Here is the description of their Smoky Chipotle Rub from the press release:
Inspired by the classic smoky BBQ taste with a kick of fire-roasted peppers, Smoky Chipotle Rub packs a punch. With hints of honey and paprika, the craveable dry rub hits on wings for both sweet and savory fans.
To entice you to buy these wings, the chain is offering five boneless wings with the code FREEWINGS on any $25+ order placed at Wingstop.com or in the Wingstop app. Of course, these are around for the dreaded limited-time-only, so be sure to add them to your game-day order before they disappear.
Cheez-It Amps Up the Crunch and the Heat

Cheez-It snacks are known for their crunch, but that company has decided not to rest on its laurels and will be kicking things up this Fall. Starting in October, the Cheez-It Crunch line will hit the shelves, and AllRecipes.com got an early sample of the new product. Here is their description of the new snack line:
The Cheez-It Crunch “cheesy baked snacks” have a window pane-like shape with four holes in the square, instead of Cheez-It’s signature one. The new snack is slightly puffed for a bold crunch and generously seasoned with one of Cheez-It Crunch’s three flavors.
Two of those three flavors promise to bring a kick: Kick’n Nacho Cheese and Zesty Jalapeño Cheddar. And the third variety should please cheese fans: Sharp White Cheddar. These will show up in stores in October, and you can read the AllRecipes full review of them here.
