Spicy Food News: Taco Bell Adds Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito and Crispy Chicken with Frank’s RedHot Diablo Sauce, Pizza Hut Adds Lil Wings, and More

Taco Bell Kicks Up Its Flamin’ Hot Burrito

The Bell is bringing back the fan favorite Flamin’ Hot Burrito with an upgrade. The new Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito is a cheesier version that will feature the all-new Flamin’ Hot Rice–infused with the flavor and crunch of Fritos® Flamin’ Hot® corn chips–and here is the full description from the press release:

The all new Flamin’ Hot® Rice is joined by nacho cheese sauce, seasoned beef, creamy chipotle sauce, Fritos® Flamin Hot’® chips, reduced fat sour cream, three-cheese blend, and a layer of melty grilled cheese on the outside for a boldly cheesy, spicy, crunchy bite.

This will be featured as part of the $9 Discovery Luxe Cravings Box or you can purchase it a la carte for $5.49 (prices will vary by region). And it is available “while supplies last”, so head to the drive thru soon if you want to give it a try.

Crispy Chicken Returns to Taco Bell and Gets Paired with Franks’ RedHot

Also from Taco Bell, the popular Crispy Chicken is returning along with a collaboration with the Number 1 hot sauce in the world (according to Euromonitor International Limited). Here is the description of Frank’s RedHot Diablo Sauce from the press release:

The new Frank’s RedHot® Diablo sauce fuses the Perfect Blend of Flavor and Heat™ of Frank’s RedHot® with Taco Bell’s smoky Diablo kick and spicy ranch, creating a creamy and balanced new companion for Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken.

Four menu items will feature the new sauce, and here is the rundown on those:

Frank’s RedHot® Diablo Crispy Chicken Burrito: Crispy chicken strips layered with shredded lettuce, crunchy purple cabbage, pico de gallo and cheddar cheese, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and grilled to perfection. Finished with the smoky kick of Frank’s RedHot® Diablo or the creamy coolness of Avocado Ranch, available for $5.49.

Pizza Hut Offers Wednesday Wings Deal

Pizza Hut wants to bring more attention to its wings–which are sold under the Wing Street banner–and it wants to rename Wednesday to Wingsday. And to do this, they are offering a special for their new Lil’ Wings which they describe as “snackable, crispy, fried wings tossed in your favorite sauce or rub”. On Wednesdays… err… Wingsdays you can get an order 20 for 10 dollars. And while it appears that these are smaller than their regular wings, 20 for $10 is still a pretty good deal. This promotion starts on November 5th and will probably stick around for a few months.

Nissin Adds Two Hot Ramen Flavors

Nissin is apparently trying to compete with Buldak’s hot ramen noodles as they have introduced the new Geki line with two spicy flavors. Geki is Japanese for “intense” or “extreme” and following is the rundown on the new lineup from the press release:

SPICY CARBONARA CHICKEN – Prepare your bowl (and yourself) for a combination of rich, creamy sauce and a balanced, spicy kick to completely transport your taste buds. As our new wavy noodle style holds every last drop of creamy sauce, you’ll enjoy a pleasant fusion of chicken flavor and heat.
