Spicy Food News: KFC Brings Back the Spicy Twister, Zaxby’s Adds Nashville Hot Rub, and More
The Twister is Back at KFC with a Twist
Chicken wraps continue to prove popular at the drive thru, and KFC is bringing back its version with a slight upgrade. Here is the rundown from the press release:
The Twister features two crispy Original Recipe® Tenders layered with fresh lettuce, diced tomato and KFC’s signature Pepper Mayo inside a warm tortilla. Reintroduced with a more substantial build, it returns as a wrap meant to satisfy as the main event, not just a side.
Here are the two versions available and each of these can be kicked up with some heat by adding their Zinger sauce:
Twister Classic: Two crispy Original Recipe® Tenders with lettuce, tomato and Pepper Mayo.
Twister Bacon: Two crispy Original Recipe® Tenders topped with hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and Pepper Mayo.
These are here for the dreaded limited-time-only, so make a trip to KFC soon if the Twister is one of your favorites.
Zaxby’s Adds Nashville Hot Dry Rub and More

Yet another chicken-slinger is spicing things up as Zaxby’s is expanding on the dry rubs available with their favorite Chicken Fingerz™ and wing meals. They had already introduced Lemon Pepper and now they are adding Garlic Parmesan and Nashville Hot with the latter of interest to those who like a kick with their poultry. Here is the rundown from the press release:
NEW Garlic Parmesan: A classic savory option that combines garlic, herbs, and aged parmesan flavor.
NEW Nashville Hot: The spicy, boundary-pushing flavor that features the staple Nashville cayenne heat, brown sugar and honey.
Lemon Pepper: A bold blend of zesty lemon, cracked black pepper, and a rich buttery finish, giving fans the sharp and craveable punch they crave.
Zaxby’s is referring to these as a permanent addition, but they will only be as permanent as the sales allow, so you may want to try them sooner rather than later.
