Quick Review: Jack-in-the-Box Spicy Triple Cheese & Bacon Sauced & Loaded Fries

Bottom Line: The Spicy Triple Cheese & Bacon Sauced & Loaded Fries from Jack-in-the-Box offer pure fast food indulgence and bring some heat, but they are skimpy on the toppings.

Jack is at it again, loading up the fries with toppings and also giving them a spicy kick. He has done this several times before (see my previous review here), and now the new version delivers a slight twist. This entre-meets-side features Jack’s seasoned curly fries and tops those with white and cheddar cheese sauces, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon pieces, sliced jalapenos and Spicy Good Good Sauce.

The curly fries are good as expected, well-seasoned and crunchy while soft in the middle. The three cheeses come together to make a stringy and gooey mess that is quite tasty and brings plenty of creaminess. The spicy Good Good sauce boosts that creaminess while also bringing some tang and a bit of smokiness. The bacon amps up that smokiness when you get a piece. And the jalapenos add a nice pop and some heat when you get one of those. Problem is they were too stingy on the toppings, especially the latter two. These loaded fries were not very loaded, but when you get a bite with everything mixed together they are pure fast food decadence.

Heat-wise, the Spicy Good Good sauce and the jalapenos bring the burn, there is just not enough of them. With those two together, these fries are at the Medium heat level on my scale, but too many bites lack the jalapenos. I would ask for extra sauce and extra jalapenos next time, though they might up the price a bit for the latter.

Nutrition-wise, you better make this your meal and your side because it totals up to 790 calories (even though it doesn’t seem too filling). You will be tempted to add two tacos to your order (because you are always tempted to add two tacos while in the Jack-in-the-Box drive thru), but that gets you over one thousand cals and likely shopping for the next size up in pants. These are around for only a limited time (even though they should have the ingredients to make them year round), so get yours soon. Just be sure to ask for extra jalapenos and sauce so that every bite has some heat.
