The Naked Chicken Chalupa Is Back at Taco Bell! (For a Limited Time)

As of today, Taco Bell is bringing back one of my all-time favorite menu items from that establishment: the Naked Chicken Chalupa. That is basically a taco (or chalupa) in reverse, where the fried chicken patty is the shell holding in the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and avocado ranch sauce. This one is junk food overload as it offers pure indulgence with its nice and crispy chicken shell that delivers a welcome twist on the standard TB fare.

The Naked Chicken Chalupa was first introduced in 2017 as a limited-time-only menu item but proved popular enough to return several times. It has been a while since this has been available in the Bell’s drive thru, largely because the chain scaled back its menu during the pandemic crunch. But now the fan-favorite (which is the scourge of dieticians everywhere) is returning as the Bell launches its salvo into the Chicken Sandwich Wars. This may only be a warm-up for the Chicken Sandwich Taco they are currently testing, but I am plenty happy it has returned to the menu. (It looks like just the regular version is back, so you will have to pop open a packet of fire or diablo sauce to spice it up.)

Watch for an upcoming review on this, though it may be a few weeks as I work through a backlog seeing as I have been busy with other time commitments of late. (Darn that day job! The review is now posted here) The only thing that would make this better would be if they brought back the Nacho Fries now as well. Those are two fan-favorites that have never been on the menu together. And bring back the spicy tostadas! (Am I flying too close to the sun by asking for a return of the old classic Enchirito as well?)

The Naked Chicken Chalup will return to limited-time-only-ville before you know, so head over to TB and get yours as soon as possible.
