B-Dubs Spices Things Up for Football Season
Buffalo Wild Wings has added two new sauces to their menu to try and pull in more business during football season. Here is the description from the website:
Maple Chipotle: A glaze of rich maple sweetness and mild smoky chipotle heat.
Cajun: A rich blend of Cajun spices balanced with spicy and tangy pepper sauce for heat.
They do not indicate the heat level of these sauces, but I am guessing they are in the Medium range. As you would expect, these are only around for a limited time.
Jack in the Box Adds Tiny Birria Tacos
The Birria craze is everywhere now, including the fast food chains, and Jack in the Box is going big on the Birria with its Tiny Tacos. Birria is a Mexican stew usually made with beef or goat and the tacos use the meat from the stew with some broth on the side for dipping (or they are dunked in that broth and cooked on the griddle). Jack isn’t going through all that effort, though, as these new Tiny Tacos have Birria-flavored meat and they are served with Birria-flavored buttermilk Ranch dipping sauce. That’s about as far from authentic as possible, but I will still probably give them a try. These are also available sauced and loaded which includes shredded cheddar, cheese sauce, and shredded lettuce. And as you would expect, these are only on loan from Limited-Time-Only-Ville.
El Pollo Loco Tests New Mango Habanero Chicken
West-Coast based chain El Pollo Loco is trying out a new, spicy version of its flame-grilled chicken. The Mango Habanero option is citrus-marinated and then coated in their new signature Mango Habanero sauce. This is currently only available in eight select restaurants in Southern California (you can see the list here), but if it proves popular it could expand nationwide.
