Hot Sauce Gift Boxes Make a Good Last Minute Christmas Gift
Do you know a lover of spicy food that you need to get a gift for this week as Christmas is quickly approaching? Well, there are several hot sauce gift boxes that you can order on a one-time basis or start up an ongoing subscription. And while it may not arrive by the holiday, you can wrap up a printout of the order or send and email teasing what is on the way. Fuego Box used to be the go to source for this type of gift, but sadly they have shut down operations. But here are several other services that you could use to send the gift of hot sauce:
Hot Sauce Shop: This site lets you send one sauce a month for $14.99 or three for $29.99 with free shipping. You select the heat level and let them know who to send it to, and it is pay as you go, so you can do this for one month or longer. You can also schedule it to go quarterly. And they have quite a number of hot sauces in their inventory, so the recipient should certainly find plenty to like in the gift boxes. More info on their service here.
Cratejoy: This is another site that offers a hot sauce of the month club with free shipping, curated selection, a wide variety of flavors and styles, and a choice of Heat Level. You pick one or three sauces per month, and that can be one time, three months, six months, or twelve months. The price starts at $16.99 (free shipping) for one box for one month, then varies depending on the number and frequency. More info on their service here.
Scovilled: This service lets you send one or three bottles per month with your choice of heat level, flavor profile, and food pairings, and it is completely customizable each month. One sauce per month is $12 and three is $30 and there is a flat rate of shipping of $5.95. More info on their service here.
Pepper Palace: This retailer which has stores across the country also offers a hot sauce shipping service. Each month will include a random assortment of 4 different sauces from their inventory ranging from wild to mild in heat. It is $40 for four sauces and you can choose if you want to ship it every 30 days or 60 days. More info on their service here.
If you don’t want to go this route and just want to put together a hot sauce sampler of your own, World Market has quite a lot to choose from as does Trader Joe’s. And it is likely that your local supermarket has a nice selection of sauces as well. Just make sure you don’t buy one of those generic hot sauce sets because those are usually comprised of cheap sauces made in some place like China.
