Chicken Satay is a delicious Thai dish and Trader Joe’s Thai Peanut Satay Sauce makes it easy to do at home.
Ingredients
One lb Chicken Tenders (or Chicken Breast Cut into Strips)
Trader Joe’s Satay Sauce
1 to 2 Tbsp Sriracha Sauce
1 to 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Superhot Hot Sauce (Optional, See Comment Below)
1 Tbsp Oil
Directions
Rinse the chicken and pat dry. Place in a bowl and coat with oil. You can add some salt and pepper if you like, but the sauce is already pretty well seasoned.
In a separate bowl, add the satay sauce, sriracha sauce, and soy sauce and mix together. The sriracha will bring some heat, but I like to add a few drops of a superhot sauce like Dave’s Insanity Sauce, though this particular time I used Tabanero Dragon’s Breath Sauce. This will give the chicken a nice kick, but not to the point that it will set your mouth on fire.
Add half the sauce to the chicken and coat (reserve the rest for dipping). Let that marinate for at least four hours, then cook the meat on the grill or the stove top. You will want to cook the tenders for about six to eight minutes on each side depending on how thick they are.
Warm up the reserve sauce for dipping and then serve the chicken with fried rice, kim chi, egg rolls, or whatever sides you prefer.
