Del Taco Kicks Up Its Queso

This California-based chain is adding some heat to the menu with its new Flamin’ Hot Queso. Following is the description from the press release:

The perfect blend of Del Taco’s creamy queso blanco seasoned with the intense heat of FLAMIN’ HOT® for a signature combination of cheesy and spicy richness that can only come from Del Taco.

And even though they don’t mention Lay’s, they are linked because that company owns the trademark (using Flamin’ with no “g”) and Del Taco has Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on the menu. The queso is available as a side with chips, and they also have nachos featuring the sauce with either seasoned beef, grilled chicken, or carne asada steak. They are also adding it to several of their signature burritos, but this is a limited time item, so you will want to give it a try while it is still available.

Momofuku Expands Its Lineup

Momofuku is probably best know to lovers of spicy food for its chili crunch, but they also make noodles and now they are adding several new sauces to their lineup, two of which promise to bring some heat. Here is the rundown on those from the press release:

Chili Crunch Sauce, a smooth, drizzle-able evolution of Momofuku’s cult-favorite Chili Crunch, blending chili crunch, miso, and garlic into a rich, savory sauce with balanced heat.

Sweet & Spicy Sauce, inspired by the original rice cake dish at Momofuku Noodle Bar, this sauce is layered with gochujang, soy, garlic, and subtle sweetness.

The other sauces they have added are Momoyaki Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Miso Ginger Sauce, and you can read more about those at the link above. There is no indication that these are limited time items, so they should stick around as long as the sales are good. And these should be available nationally at stores that carry Momofuku products.

With football season kicking off, BWW has brought back its fan-favorite Hot BBQ sauce which they rate at Medium level heat. And this will pair up well with their current Wing Deal which includes 20 boneless wings with up to four flavors, fries, and four dips for $17.99 (prices will vary by region). Both the sauce and the deal will be headed back to Limited-Time-Only-Ville, probably towards the end of football seasons.

This long-running fast food chain has kicked up its sauce selection, adding a Ghost Pepper dipping option which they claim delivers “Fiery, bold, smoky pepper heat”. You can order this with their regular Chicken Tender basket (which includes fries), or with their Buffalo Chicken Tenders, or their Steak Fingers, or just request it on the side (there will likely be a surcharge for that). But this is a limited time selection, so you will want to try it before they run out.
