Bottom Line: The Fiery Buffalo Royal Crispy Wrap from Burger King brings some heat, but it is pretty messy as well.

Burger King has added another spicy selection to its line of Royal Crispy Wraps with the Fiery Buffalo wrap. I previously reviewed the first spicy version that they put out (which is still on the menu), and you can read my thoughts on that here. Following is the official description of the new Buffalo version:

The new Fiery Buffalo Royal Crispy Wrap features crispy white meat chicken breast fillet coated in a spicy Buffalo glaze and a creamy Buffalo sauce with juicy tomato and crisp lettuce in a soft warm tortilla.

The tang from that Buffalo sauce hits as soon as you take a bite of this wrap, and it is pretty high on the vinegary pucker. The wrap is also pretty heavy on the sauce, so you better like the stuff. The piece of chicken could be bigger (I had a few bites at the end without any meat), but it suffices. It delivers some crunch from the crust (even though drenched in sauce) and the meat is tender and flavorful. The lettuce and tomato add some freshness, but the taste mostly gets overwhelmed by the sauce. The tortilla is standard and holds everything together, but it was covered in sauce as this wrap was quite messy. Don’t try to eat and drive with one of these!

Heat-wise, this approaches Medium on my scale which is not bad for the drive thru. The tang kicks it up a bit, but they could have been more judicious with the sauce as it is all over the place. Next time I might ask for that on the side so I can regulate the amount in the wrap. Of the two, I preferred the Spicy Royal Crispy Wrap over this one, but if I am craving that Buffalo tang, I might pick it up again.

The wrap comes in at 360 calories, which is decent for a drive item. If you add a four-piece of the cheesy tots (165 cals), you are just over 500 cals total and not pushing the boundaries for the day (unless you need to be watching your sodium). The wrap sells for $2.99 in my area and the cheesy tots will get you to just over five bucks total (with tax) which is not bad for a fast food joint these days. The Fiery Buffalo Wrap will head back to Limited-Time-Only-Ville at some point, so if it sounds tempting to you, pick one up while still available.
